At Dan’s, we perform major & minor repairs, complete rebuilds, annual inspections, STC’d & custom modifications for Piper PA-18 series aircraft. We are Alaska’s largest supercub rebuilder. We don’t limit ourselves to just PA-18’s we also work on all of the Piper line of fabric aircraft.
Dan Hollingsworth has been repairing Super Cubs years and flying all over the state retrieving and repairing damaged or wrecked aircraft for over 30 years. He is widely known as the expert in all aspects of Cub maintenance, and has developed many innovative modifications to enhance performance and safety of these aircraft. He has accumulated countless hours of cub flight time hunting, fishing and retrieving aircraft in the Anchorage area, Alaska Range, Wrangell Mts., Brooks Range, Western Alaska and Alaska Peninsula.
We specialize in the restoration of Piper fabric covered aircraft, primarily Cubs and PA-12’s. We also occasionally restore other fabric aircraft, including Aviat Huskys and Arctic Terns.
We have extensive experience in the retrieval of damaged aircraft located in remote areas. We have retrieved aircraft from just about every part of the state, either by making necessary field repairs and flying the aircraft out or by disassembling it and sling loading out by helicopter.
We know where to look for hidden damage that may often be caused operating on rough surfaces and many on our staff are themselves life-long experienced Cub pilots. We here at DAN’S AIRCRAFT have accumulated about 20,000 hours of Cub flight time in Alaska, and we all have our own off airport maintenance stories to share.
